"Family Practice Specialists of Richmond (FPSR), P.C., first opened its doors on the campus of Johnston-Willis Hospital in October, 1994. Dr. James W. Miller had been practicing in the Richmond, Virginia area for more than 20 years and decided to create a practice that would motivate patients to improve their overall health by being physically active and living a healthy lifestyle. The practice, once owned by a solo physician, quickly grew to become a leader in the community that reflects the best of modern healthcare with its blend of high technology, knowledgeable physicians and nurse practitioners, and skilled office staff. FPSR’s philosophy centers on empowering people to assume responsibility by taking an active role in their own healthcare.
