"Dr. Dean Bartholomew grew up in Saratoga, Wyoming. He attended Hastings College in Hastings, Nebraska, before attending medical school at the Creighton University School of Medicine where he graduated with honors. After medical school, Dean completed his family medicine residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center / Offutt Air Force Base in Omaha, Nebraska. He spent the next four years at F.E. Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne, Wyoming, before separating in 2008 at the rank of Major and as the Commander of the Aerospace Medicine Flight. After one year on the teaching staff at the University of Wyoming Family Medicine Residency in Cheyenne, Dr. Bartholomew was recruited back to Saratoga in 2009. For eight years, Dean and his wife, Tonya, owned and operated the Platte Valley Medical Clinic in Saratoga and built arguably the most advanced rural clinic in the state (and here). In 2017, Dr. Bartholomew moved to Powell, WY, joining 307Health. The inaugural Direct Primary Care (DPC) in Wyoming (page 16), 307Health started as the brainchild of Drs. Robert Chandler and Michael Tracy in 2015. The clinic quickly grew to the point of expansion in 2017 and was awarded as a “Success Story” at the 2019 Governor’s Business Forum. Dr. Bartholomew is involved with initiatives throughout the state including champion for telehealth (and here), advocate for the WyoPOLST program, developing member of the State Alzheimer’s Dementia Plan, member of the State HIE Implementation Team, and a previous member of the Wyoming Cancer Coalition Palliative Care Initiative (page 34). Outside of the state, Dr. Bartholomew has spoken nationally at the US Senate Rural Health Caucus in 2016; in Boston at the American College of Physicians in 2015; and in Denver for the Association of Health Care Journalists Association of Health Care Journalists in 2014. Last, Dr. Bartholomew is involved in physician leadership at the state level having served as the President of the Wyoming Medical Society in 2014-2015 and most recently serving as the President of the Wyoming Academy of Family Physicians from 2017-2019."
