"Elizabeth Lantz Brown, MD is a native of Charleston, WV. She graduated with honors from the West Virginia University School of Medicine in 1998 and completed her residency training in the department of Internal Medicine at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. Since 2001, Dr. Brown has been practicing in the Kanawha Valley, and she currently owns and operates an outpatient family practice in the medical building at Thomas Memorial Hospital in South Charleston. In November 2004, Dr. Brown's practice was one of the first to adopt the use of Electronic Health Records, and continues to maintain the latest state of the art computer technology. She is fully prepared to meet federal healthcare requirements under the Affordable Healthcare Act and to allow patients and their consulting physicians secure access to their medical records. Dr. Brown maintains hospital privileges at Thomas Memorial Hospital and CAMC.
Dr. Brown is a familiar face in the Kanawha Valley, as she previously appeared as weekly television medical expert on WVAH/Fox Channel 12 Eyewitness News and has been a featured guest on WCHS am 580 "Ask the Expert" radio hour. She completed her certification in aesthetic medicine from the Postgraduate Institute for Medicine in 2010, and has been performing cosmetic procedures including Botox, Juvederm, and Microdermabrasion since then. Dr. Brown also spent several years studying bariatric medicine and weight loss through her work at Physicians' Weight Loss Center, the former Medical Weight Loss and Skin Care Center (now Imagine Medispa), and the American Society of Bariatric Physicians. Her knowledge base includes nutrition counseling, natural weight loss supplements, and prescription appetite suppressants. She is married to her husband Kevin and has three canine children: Frosty, Gauley, and Tigger. In her spare time she enjoys performing in local community theater, singing in the church choir, working out, and reading."
