"Stephen S. Park, MD, is board certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and is a diplomat of the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery. After receiving his BA at Amherst College, he pursued his medical education at the University of Michigan Medical School, residency at Tufts University Medical Center in Boston, and finally fellowship training in Facial Plastic Surgery at the Oregon Health Sciences University, in Portland, Oregon.
His training encompasses six years of head and neck surgery with specialization in facial cosmetic procedures. Dr. Park joined the faculty at the University of Virginia Medical Center in 1994 as the Director of the Division of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He is widely recognized as an expert in the field of facial plastic surgery, lecturing nationally and internationally on his surgical techniques and medical philosophy. He has been an invited guest professor to many universities around the country and the Guest of Honor at a number of large, international symposia around the world. Dr. Park has been the guest speaker at such places as Paris, Rome, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Germany, Brazil, Columbia, Peru, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, China, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Taiwan, and Korea. He has also published numerous books and chapters on different topics of facial plastic surgery and is considered an international leader and innovator in the areas of rhinoplasty, nasal reconstruction, and facial aesthetic surgery. He is committed to the educational mission and serves as a professor and chairman at the University of Virginia. He has served as President of the American Academy of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, director with the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery, and Vice-President of the Triological Society."
