Ronald Haggerty, MD

"Dr. Haggerty is a Board Certified Internist. He was born and raised in Michigan, having graduated with honors with a Bachelor’s degree in Physiology from Michigan State University. He attended Wayne State University School of Medicine and went on to residency at the Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth, VA in 1995. After completion, he became a member of Fleet Surgical Team Six and deployed on the USS Kearsarge to the Mediterranean Sea. Upon completion of his six years of active duty with the Navy, Dr. Haggerty went into private practice in Chesapeake, VA. In 2004, he moved to Gloucester to join Internal Medicine Associates and was in practice for just over two years before starting the Hospitalist program at Riverside Walter Reed. From 2006 to 2011, he served as the Hospitalist Medical Director, President of the Medical Staff from 2009-2011 and was the Medical Director of the Riverside Walter Reed Hospice program through 2013."
