"Dr. Wehausen grew up in Southern Maryland in a suburban town outside of Washington, D.C. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Dr. Wehausen continued her education in Blacksburg, Virginia where she graduated from Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine for medical school and completed her Traditional Rotating Internship at LewisGale Hospital Montgomery.
Dr. Wehausen completed her dermatology residency at Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida where she served as chief resident. During her residency, Dr. Wehausen trained under the tutelage of Dr. Carlos Nousari, who is an internationally acclaimed leader in the fields of immunodermatology and connective tissue diseases. Dr. Wehausen was also trained by a leading expert in the field of dermoscopy, or skin surface microscopy, a non-invasive method used for early detection of skin cancers. While training in South Florida, Dr. Wehausen diagnosed and managed a vast array of dermatologic conditions in a diverse patient population in multiple clinical settings including Broward Health Medical Center, Cleveland Clinic Florida, and the Veterans Affairs Hospital in West Palm Beach.
In her spare time, Dr. Wehausen enjoys spending time with her family and friends, watching Virginia Tech football (Go Hokies!), and relaxing at Smith Mountain Lake.
Dr. Wehausen is thrilled to join Affiliated Dermatologists of Virginia and provide medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatologic services to patients of all ages and skin types."
