She then moved to US and completed her residency in Internal medicine from Tufts University School of Medicine and practiced Internal Medicine for 6 years. Following that, she pursued a fellowship in Nephrology from prestigious UCLA. Dr. Kommana is board certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology.

Dr. Kommana believes in practicing evidence-based medicine while adapting to rapidly evolving medical technology in day to day patient care. She believes that many medical conditions are better addressed if patient centered health care can be delivered with compassion and commitment. She is a strong patient advocate and patient care is her number one priority.
