"Dr. Belinda Villarreal Jordan was born and raised in Laredo, Texas. She graduated from Texas A&M International with a degree in Education. After teaching elementary school for 4 years, she made the transition into Medicine. She graduated from the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio in 1999 and moved to McAllen to complete her Internship and Residency in Family Medicine. Dr. Jordan started her private practice in 2003 and has treated families in the Rio Grande Valley for over 17 years.
In 2008, Dr. Jordan decided to specialize in Obesity Medicine and was the first doctor in the RGV to be certified by the American Board of Obesity Medicine. With prevention as a focus, she embraced the task of helping her patients lose weight and improve their quality of life. Soon after, she began BodyScripts, a medical weight loss practice geared specifically towards patients wanting to make lifestyle changes in diet, exercise and behavior.
In 2012, Dr. Jordan joined the team at Renaissance Bariatric and Metabolic Institute as the Obesity Medicine Specialist. She continued to help patients manage their obesity related conditions as well as prepare them for bariatric surgery. Meanwhile, she continued to work at night clinics in order to continue practicing Family Medicine.
Most recently, Dr. Jordan decided to open JordanMD to give patients the opportunity to access primary care in a new and innovative model here in the Rio Grande Valley. Here we strive to make the patient the focus of our practice with appointments available at night and on weekends, at home or at work, in person or by phone. Our goal is to make healthcare what it should be - a personal relationship between doctor and patient."
