Dr. Ashley Finch is a Board-Certified Family Medicine Physician with expertise in preventive care, chronic disease management, women’s health, and medical weight loss. She uses an osteopathic perspective and is dedicated to treating each patient as a whole individual with specific medical and psychosocial needs. She believes that the direct care model is superior to traditional care models as it gives both patients and physicians adequate time to spend on developing a therapeutic relationship and shared management goals.
Dr. Finch was born and raised in Beaumont and graduated from West Brook High School. She obtained her undergraduate degree in Biology from Lamar University. Prior to medical school, she worked as an emergency department scribe at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas. She graduated with a Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine from UNTHSC Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2018. She then completed a Family Medicine Residency from 2018-2021 at the JPS Family Medicine Residency in Fort Worth, TX. During residency she completed a specialized track in Street Medicine, where she received additional training in healthcare for the homeless, harm reduction, and management of chronic hepatitis C and substance use disorders, and was awarded a Humanitarian Award for her dedication the providing care to underserved patients. After completing residency, she moved back to Beaumont to work as a Primary Care Physician at Legacy Community Health. In 2021, she was appointed as Clinical Assistant Professor through SHSU College of Osteopathic Medicine and has taught medical students rotating in Family Medicine.
