"My name is Oscar C. Torres, Jr, M.D. I was born in Managua, Nicaragua and have been married to my beautiful wife Rosa A. Torres, M.D. for 40 years. I graduated from medical school from the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara in 1980. I practiced medicine in Nicaragua for 2 years before coming to the United States in 1982, having been forced to flee our country due to communism and war. My wife and I worked hard to continue our training in the United States, and graduated from the Wichita Falls Family Medicine Residency program in 1991 and 1992.

We opened our own practice in 1991 in Burkburnett, Texas and spent 23 years in a private practice before joining URPG.  In January of 2019, we decided to open Texoma Direct Primary Care (DPC) here in Burkburnett, Texas, making it the first DPC clinic in Burkburnett.

We believe in removing barriers to healthcare and bringing back the patient doctor relationship. By eliminating third party payers and bureaucracy from the exam room, we eliminate the delays and hassles of delivering patient care. DPC does not replace medical insurance, but it does provide direct access to your physician, which allows for prompt care, avoiding complications of disease and unnecessary urgent care and ER visits. The biggest and most important thing missing from our current system is time. With DPC, we feel that we can provide the time necessary to listen, which makes all the difference in your care and health. We spend 30 minutes to an hour with each patient and never overbook appointments.
