"Trew is dedicated to prevention and health improvement to his patients through studied, compassionate, directed care. He began his pursuit in medicine after graduating Magna Cum Laude from the University of Texas in Arlington with a Bachelor’s in Psychology. He then received his Masters of Health Sciences and his Medical Training as a Physician Assistant from Duke University Medical School when he concentrated his studies in Prevention, Behavioral Health, HIV Medicine and Research.
Trew has practiced in Internal Medicine and as an HIV Specialist since 2000. He is a member of and on Faculty for the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA). He has been credentialed as an HIV Specialist through the American Academy of HIV Medicine (AAHIVM) since 2003, in the Texas Chair of AAHIVM and sits on 3 additional active committees. He is also a member of the Texas Association of Physician Assistants (TAPA).
Trew’s areas of interest are in Primary Health Care and Prevention, Behavioral Health, HIV Prevention and Management, Anal Dysplasia, Gay Men’s Health, and Chronic Health Care. He was in North Carolina, grew up in Nashville, moved to California as a young adult, and has since resided in Texas. Trew has been partnered for 15 years. He has resided and practiced in Dallas since completing his medical education. He has a love for all animals, a passion for many genres of music, and enjoys experiencing other cultures through interaction and travel."
