"Dr. Rohan Patankar was born in Baroda, India and moved to the USA in 1999. He completed his undergraduate degree, at The University of Florida in 2007. He stayed in Florida to study medicine at LECOM – Bradenton. After receiving his degree, he completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Palmetto General Hospital. He moved to Galveston, Texas for his fellowship in Nephrology and Hypertension at The University of Texas Medical Branch.
Dr. Patankar’s interests in the areas of diabetes and hypertension led him to pursue further training in becoming a kidney expert. He monitors his patients very closely to help keep his patients off dialysis. He is a published author in the JAOA and has done a presentation at the American Transplant Congress in the area of kidney transplant. He takes his time and enjoys talking to his patients. He took the time to learn Spanish during his residency in order to connect better with his patients."
