"Dr. Melecia Fuentes is a board-certified family medicine specialist with more than two decades of experience caring for patients. At Be Well Clinic, she serves as medical director and provides primary care, minor surgical procedures, and aesthetic treatments, like FemiLift. Patients can count on her to provide individualized, compassionate care to meet their healthcare needs and cosmetic goals.
As a child, Dr. Fuentes witnessed the positive impact a physician could have on the community. She knew in third grade that she wanted to become a doctor to give back in the same way.
She received her medical degree from Ohio State College of Medicine, followed by completing her residency at the University of Texas San Antonio Medical Center. From 1999 – 2003, she served as a captain in the U.S. Air Force before starting her private family medical practice in 2004.
In 2018, Dr. Fuentes purchased a 50-year-old former produce warehouse in Weslaco, TX. With the help of an architect team, what was once considered an eyesore became the newly renovated home of Be Well Clinic. Dr. Fuentes is proud to lead the way as a trusted source of medical care for her hometown community.
Dr. Fuentes is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, and she is also a National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA)-Recognized Patient-Centered Medical Home. She is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, Valley Integrated Physicians, and the Rio Grande Valley Accountable Care Organization."
