"Dr. Anne Marie Ponce de Leon is a proud native Houstonian. She obtained her undergraduate degree from Houston Baptist University with a double major in Biology and History. For Medical School, she attended the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston (recently renamed McGovern Medical School). She began her family practice training at Tufts University Medical School in Boston, MA, but quickly returned to Houston where she completed her residency at the Memorial Southwest Family Practice Program.
While she has practiced traditional medicine for over 20 years, she has studied and incorporates aspects of functional and holistic medicine into her patient care. She has stated that regardless of the form of diagnosing and/or treatment, albeit traditional or functional, her fundamental belief about the ‘art of medicine’ resides in the ability to communicate and truly ‘hear’ your patients."
