"Philip Hamby, MSN, APRN, FNP-c, founder and CEO of MEDI Care Clinics, enjoys primary care because it affords him the opportunity to build long, meaningful relationships with his patients. Philip takes the time to understand his patients’ unique needs and underlying conditions so that he can help them maximize and maintain a healthy lifestyle. He strives to live by the ethos of treating others as he would want to be treated.
Philip has dedicated himself to improving access to care for Medicare beneficiaries after learning from his parents – both of whom receive Medicare – of the hardships that their friends were having in finding a primary care provider. He firmly believes that Texas seniors shouldn’t struggle to find high-quality preventative care.
Philip grew up in small town Mississippi where he graduated early to enlist in the United States Marine Corps. He served five years on active duty where his travels took him as far away as Okinawa, Japan and as close as NAS JRB Fort Worth. It was in Fort Worth where he met the love of his life and planted roots in North Texas.
After the Corps, Philip earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington. He spent time as a nurse in emergency, addiction, post-operative recovery, and correctional settings. Philip returned to school to earn his Masters of Science in Nursing, with a focus in Family Nurse Practitioner, from Texas Woman’s University."
