"I was born in Arlington, Texas to two Taiwanese immigrants who moved here to pursue the American dream. After graduating high school in Austin, I stuck around at UT Austin, double majoring in Plan II Liberal Arts and Neurobiology. College is when I really fell in love with Science. I loved teaching, to understand concepts deeply, and I satisfied this craving by tutoring other students in biology, chemistry, and physics. Trying to keep an open mind, I studied abroad, learning about alternative medicine in Kunming, China. Afterward, I trained at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, then a Dermatology residency at Penn State in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Wanting to treat my patients as comprehensively as possible, I completed a dermatopathology fellowship to help me read skin biopsies. I then managed to convince a special girl to move back with me to Austin to build a life together.
In my free time, my wonderful fiancée and I love trying new recipes, hiking the most strenuous trails we can find, and doting on our spoiled black Labrador, Poppy. I also love reading, snowboarding, and rock climbing. I have the unique pleasure to have a fiancée who is also a Dermatologist, and our guilty pleasure is really nerding out over new breakthroughs and studies in Dermatology journals.
My special interests include complex medical dermatology, dermatopathology, and hair loss disorders."
