"I believe that healing begins with relationship creation and therapeutic communication as the fundamental base for which interventions and diagnostics can build upon. Medicine, can at times, manage illnesses through symptom reaction rather than preventive care, but I bring therapeutic accountability through health education and promotion to disease processes both acute and chronic.
I also believe in creating positive relationships with my patients and staff and my fellow staff members’ patients. I enjoy helping team members by assisting with patient care needs, but I also seek interaction with fellow staff to engage in problem solving for all patients. I am known by my coworkers to be approachable and easy going in patient care settings. Positive energy and positive attitude goes a long way as well as music! I love to listen to music and play music for my patient’s to ease their stress.
Lastly, I’d like to talk about the passion I have for humans as complex and emotional individuals. I believe there is beauty in healing and health, as well as beauty in allowing loved ones to live and die with dignity and minimal suffering. 10 years in the ICU has allowed me to enjoy witnessing the cycle of life and the preciousness that it truly can hold. The suffering I have witnessed over the past 9-10 years has taught me the true power and importance of preventive health. Keeping patients out of the hospital and with increased quality of life in their community is key."
