"Dr. David Baggett has been helping people in the Summerville, South Carolina area live healthier, happier lives since 1980. Growing up in McCormick, South Carolina, he found a mentor in Dr. Brown, the doctor of record for the town of 1,200 – and its high school football team. Inspired by his personal connection to each and every patient, David followed in his mentor’s footsteps, earning his medical degree at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in 1977. He completed his three-year residency in Family Medicine at MUSC, serving as Chief Resident his senior year.
In addition to his private practice, Dr. Baggett has played an active role in his community, having served as team physician for the Summerville High School football team from 1986 to 2014 alongside Coach McKissick. He also was instrumental in the formation of the Indian Health Initiative, a non-profit organization meeting the health needs of Native Americans in Dorchester County. He has been voted Summerville's Best Doctor year after year.
Dr. Baggett maintains strong relationships with many area hospitals. He served on the Board of Trustees of the Trident Health System for many years, which has oversight over both the Trident Medical Center and the Summerville Medical Center."
