He graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of Puerto Rico. He then completed his doctorate in medicine, cum laude , at the Central University of the Caribbean in Bayamón, being a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She completed her residency in Gynecology and Obstetrics at the University of Puerto Rico, Medical Sciences Campus , where she was the head of residents in the academic part.
