"Before starting Setzer Personal Physicians, Dr. Setzer was a partner in a local family practice located in Mechanicsburg Pennsylvania. He is a board certified Family Practitioner, and member of the American Board of Family Medicine, American Academy of Family Physicians, and the American Academy of Private Physicians. He is a graduate of the University of Virginia, a top-twenty Medical School. After graduation from Medical School, Dr. Setzer completed his residency program at the University of Florida where he was awarded the title of Chief Resident. He was also recognized with the University of Florida Alumni Association Outstanding Resident Award, the Resident Teaching Award and the Certificate of Excellence in Medical Student Teaching Award. He lives with his wife and two sons in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania. He grew up in southwestern Virginia, and enjoys fly fishing, travel, and above all, time with his family.
With increasing demand for services and government regulation, Dr. Setzer felt he was having less time to develop relationships with his patients. Setzer Personal Physicians is the realization of a simple truth: medical care is better when the doctor truly knows his patient. Dr. Setzer is thrilled to bring this model of highly personal care to his patients.
Dr. Setzer offers full service Family Practice medical care, gynecologic services, pediatric and adolescent care for those aged 10 and older, and a special focus on prevention of heart attack, stroke, and diabetes. At Setzer Personal Physicians, Dr. Setzer has the time and resources to outline personal plans for nutrition, exercise, relaxation, and better living!
There are many exciting developments in the approach to the treatment of atherosclerosis, the disease which can lead to heart attack and stroke. This new technology takes time to implement, and involves extensive patient education and personal assessment. Through the use of noninvasive radiologic tests and advanced blood markers, Dr. Setzer can mitigate an individual’s risk of a potentially life-threatening event."
