"As young resident at Temple, Dr. Koka saw first hand the effect heart disease had on patients and their families. He recognized this as an opportunity to make a true difference in patients' lives by specializing in cardiology. As he watched fellow doctors swallowed up by big hospital systems, he realized that the personal touch was missing in healthcare. In 2013, Dr. Koka decided to change the typical medical experience for his patients. He founded Koka Cardiology with a new approach to patient care. He created a small, private practice where we know our patients and we provide truly personalized care.
Originally from Pittsburgh, Dr. Koka completed his undergraduate training at Penn State University, then earned his medical degree from Temple University. He has resided in the Philly area since, while building his family and his practice. Dr. Koka is a busy father of three who lives a "heart healthy" lifestyle by chasing his kids and playing basketball on the courts of Villanova. His guilty pleasure is his wife Jean's eggplant parm and cannolis from Isgro's."
