"Sarah West became an Oregon board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) in 2021 and is a graduate of Simmons University School of Nursing. She practiced as a registered nurse for just over five years before becoming an FNP, with the bulk of her experience in pediatric primary care. Sarah is a Master’s level educator and was licensed to teach middle and high school science and health (which she did for 5 years) before embarking on a career in nursing. She is passionate about prevention, patient education, and mental health and is furthering her career with a graduate certification to treat mental health concerns as a nurse practitioner. Sarah believes that health encompasses the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual and health care needs are individual to each person. Her primary passion is working with adolescents and young adults, and she has published an original study on the relationships between social anxiety and screen time in teens.
When she is not in the clinic, Sarah enjoys many activities with her husband and two, teenage sons such as camping, boating, and local and international traveling. She also has been learning to play the piano, garden, and draw and watercolor paint. Sarah is an avid reader and reads anywhere from 50-100+ novels a year, especially if she can be curled up with her German Shepherd, Thor and a hot cup of coffee or tea. "
