"Jill’s clinical passions and specialties include skin cancer diagnosis and treatment, medical dermatology, and women’s health.
Jill’s mother was a nurse and exposed her to the medical field and dermatology at a young age. This led her to pursue a pre-med program, followed by a Masters in Science in Public Health. After graduation, she joined Catholic Charities, performing bilingual outreach for the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), a Medicaid expansion program. She then joined the Tarrant County Health Department, where she worked in public education, outreach and performed counseling on various health topics. Jill received a Master of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.
The majority of Jill’s career as a PA has been in an academic setting. She had a long-term goal of working in dermatology, but she first cared for internal medicine patients to establish a strong foundation. She has served in numerous roles, including in a women’s clinic, internal medicine clinic, and the National Health Service Corps.
Jill was offered a position as a dermatology PA at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and was extensively trained alongside dermatology residents. She attended the residents’ weekly science lectures, took the residents’ exams and weekly quizzes, attended weekly grand rounds, and had the great fortune of training under several world-renowned dermatologists.
Jill has had the pleasure of caring for Central Oregon patients since 2015. She is excited to be a part of the Dermatology Health Specialists team providing a unique, compassionate, and personal approach to the dermatologic needs of Central Oregon."
