"Dr. Macaluso specializes in laser vision correction surgery, cataract surgery, corneal diseases, and corneal transplants. He graduated from California State University, Fullerton and the University of California, San Diego Medical School. He served his internship at Mercy Hospital, followed by his residency in ophthalmology for four years at The Casey Eye Institute. He completed a fellowship in Refractive Surgery, Corneal and External Diseases and Corneal Transplants at The Moran Eye Center, University of Utah, Salt Lake City, Utah where he was awarded the prestigious Heed Fellowship.
Dr. Macaluso is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the Casey Eye Institute, Portland Oregon, where he served as a faculty member from 2001-2004.
Dr. Macaluso specializes in both laser vision correction and cataract surgery. He utilizes the most advanced laser vision correction technology, including Bladeless LASIK and Advanced Surface Ablation (PRK) with the Wavelight Refractive Surgery Suite. Dr. Macaluso also has extensive experience in advanced cataract surgery. During his career, he has performed over 30,000 procedures and utilizes only the most specialized surgical technology. This includes the use of premium intraocular lenses like the Tecnis Toric, PanOptix, and Vivity intraocular lenses."
