"Richard Browne, MD is an experienced and compassionate cardiologist who has practiced in Charlotte, NC for more than 20 years. He graduated with honors from Boston University School of Medicine. He completed his internship and medical residency at Harvard Medical School. He then did a cardiology fellowship at the University of Virginia, where he served as the chief cardiology fellow.
Dr. Browne previously worked both at Sanger Heart and Vascular (now part of Atrium Health) and Novant Health. He also served as the team cardiologist for the Charlotte Hornets for years. He is currently a council member for the North Carolina Chapter of the American College of Cardiology.
Dr. Browne strongly believes that it is crucial for a physician and patient to develop trust as they work together to achieve optimal health. He has cared for many patients during his long career and has the expertise to treat complex cardiac disease and will continue to do so. You can also expect Dr. Browne to focus a significant amount of his time with you on prevention. This involves a holistic approach leading to a reduction in the number of prescription medications and invasive procedures his patients would need.
At Pure Cardiology, his practice will be limited to a fraction of the number of patients he had while at the large healthcare systems which will allow him the ability to have unlimited, punctual and unhurried office visits. He will have the time to effectively communicate with patients about their cardiac health. Patients will benefit greatly from this approach which translates into proactive rather than reactive care. Dr. Browne is excited to partner with you to achieve and maintain optimal health and a high quality of life."
