"Dr. Battu is the founder and owner of the group practice and company BattuVision. He is a board certified comprehensive ophthalmologist with over 20 years of experience.
Dr. Battu graduated from the highly competitive accelerated Six Year Biomedical Program, magna cum laude with a Bachelors of Science degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and a Doctor of Medicine and Surgery, from Albany Medical College. He holds the record for the youngest medical graduate in the history of the University. He completed his medical internship at UCLA, a residency in ophthalmology at Albany Medical Center, and a mini corneal fellowship from L. V. Prasad Eye Institute, in Hyderabad, India.
He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, and is an Advocate for the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He served as Chief of Ophthalmology at The Brooklyn Hospital Center for seven years, where he treated a wide range of ocular conditions and taught both students and residents. In addition, Dr. Battu is an Associate Clinical Professor at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, and performs most of his surgeries at the renowned institution.
Although Dr. Battu has vast experience in general ophthalmology, from contact lenses to diabetic eye disease, he specializes in treating cataract and glaucoma. He uses the latest techniques in cataract surgery, including the Crystalens, and performs Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty for glaucoma."
