"Dr. Jyoti Mahapatra is from Lincoln, Nebraska and has lived in Omaha since 2006. She is a board-certified emergency medicine physician and practiced with UNMC for 12 years. She and her husband Jeff enjoy travel and spending time with their energetic children, Surina and Devan.
Dr. Mahapatra has seen it all in the emergency department, and understands that illness does not stop for nights and weekends. On a daily basis she witnessed the devastation that lack of healthcare and prevention caused to her patients. She knew that while managing disease at its worst, she couldn’t provide for her patients beyond their emergency visit. As a result, she looks forward to focusing her career on lifelong patient relationships and disease prevention.
In addition, Dr. Mahapatra shares a passion for personal wellness and balancing a personal and professional life. She has lectured on wellness with residents and physicians, and written articles for a national publication. Her practice at Members.MD will unite her passion for wellness with patient care. She will empower patients to keep their health and well-being a priority. They will enjoy a physician relationship like they have never experienced and know that their health is her priority well beyond the hours of an office."
