"Dr. Jennifer Walker, M.D. is an internal medicine physician. She is a strong believer that educating her patients about nutrition, stress reduction, sleep habits, and exercise is better than doling out pills. In the event that education is not enough, she uses the best evidence-based medical practices to help her patients get healthy.
Dr. Jennifer leads a very active lifestyle. She loves to hike and run on the trails near her home, practice Functional Fitness five times a week, swim and snorkel in the ocean, and practice yoga (34 years of experience and counting!). During medical school, she was an avid snowboarder and can still get down a mountain today. Growing up, Dr. Jennifer was also an accomplished ballerina at the School of American Ballet in New York City.
While Dr. Jennifer is not a huge advocate of any specific diet, she firmly believes that weight loss and healthy weight maintenance stems from reading food labels, eliminating processed foods, and cooking from scratch using real ingredients. However, she has followed a Paleo diet in the past and would suggest it to patients looking to get away from eating processed grains.
She travels often, partly due to living in the US Virgin Islands. When she’s on the mainland, she and her girlfriend can be found road tripping and camping across North America in their van with their dogs.
Dr. Jennifer graduated from medical school at the New York University School of Medicine and completed her residency at George Washington University."
