"Choosing medicine as a profession felt natural to me.
I have always enjoyed science, math and problem solving so medicine was a natural choice for me. It was more of a gradual transition rather than a childhood dream. I have found that I fit very well into my career as a physician. I enjoy educating my patients, getting to know them and their families and creating an environment of healthful living.
My medical background: patient education, whole person care, and preventative medicine.
I graduated from Loma Linda School of Medicine in 2002 and completed my Family Practice Residency training from Kaiser Permanente – Riverside in 2005. I have worked within the Kaiser system as well as for Riverside County Department of Public Health. My wife and I opened private practice in Moorpark, CA in 2008. As our general practice grew, we took over an additional practice from a retiring physician, which included a flourishing weight loss program. Our clinics have continued to expand as we focus on patient education, whole person care and preventive medicine.
I am board-certified in Family Medicine.
This means that I have been trained to treat infants through geriatrics. This allows me to get to know my patients and their families over many years. We get to focus on the whole health rather that to just manage single diseases. Many factors influence an individual’s physical health. I encouraged each patient to evaluate all areas of their life and to make adjustments to positively affect their health.
Additionally, I have a specific interest in weight management. Obesity has become one of the most common medical conditions that negatively affect my patients’ overall health. Many patients are frustrated and have given up on achieving a healthy weight. My approach to weight-loss involves a judgment-free partnership with patients to try to make small life-changes that will lead to permanent healthy habits."
