"Dr. McMaster grew up in Lincoln Park, Michigan, and attended the University of Michigan–Dearborn where he earned an undergraduate degree, with honors, in biochemistry. He completed medical school at Michigan State University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine in East Lansing and residency in Internal Medicine at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit.
After residency, Dr. McMaster joined the faculty at the University of Michigan, where he has taught resident physicians and cared for patients for nearly 25 years. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and is skilled in chronic disease management, caring for patients with diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, asthma/COPD, anxiety and depression. Dr. McMaster stresses the importance of preventative medicine with a focus on educating his patients on the benefits of a healthy diet, physical activity, stress management, effective sleep habits and avoidance of harmful substances.
Dr. McMaster and his wife, Colleen, have lived in Novi for 25 years. Currently, their son is a medical student at the University of Toledo and their daughter is a nursing student at Otterbein University. Both of the McMaster children have played lacrosse at the college level and the game continues to play a big role in their family. Dr. McMaster also enjoys discovering new podcasts, listening to audiobooks, exercising, watching live theater and traveling"
