"I enjoy treating the wide range of ailments we see as dermatologists- from acne, to hair loss, psoriasis, skin cancer, rashes, and moles - each condition is as unique as the patient presenting with it. I also love the variety that a day in the office brings- seeing patients of all ages, performing cosmetic and surgical procedures, and learning more about each patient both old and new. I trained in Detroit where I cared for patients of all backgrounds and learned to treat the patient as a whole. In addition, the program I trained at emphasized the use of dermoscope, a tool that helps us recognize early and subtle signs of skin cancer and inflammation.
I was born and raised in Grand Rapids and am excited to return to the area. I graduated from Catholic Central High School then attended Xavier University in Cincinnati, OH where I majored in Biology with a minor in Spanish. I then returned to Michigan to attend Wayne State University School of Medicine where I met my husband and discovered my passion for dermatology. I completed my intern year at Beaumont Hospital Dearborn and then three years of dermatology residency at Wayne State University. I received diverse training in all aspects of dermatology and look forward to continued challenges and learning throughout the rest of my career.
When I am not at work, I enjoy spending time outside with my husband, our new daughter, and our Bernedoodle puppy. I feel most relaxed on a golf course and think there is no better way to end the day than watching a sunset over Lake Michigan."
