"Dr. Van Dam graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in biology. He then attended medical school at Cornell University Medical College, where he was honored and distinguished with his election into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
Dr. Van Dam received training in internal medicine and primary care at the New York Hospital, Cornell Medical Center, in New York City. In addition, he received clinical training at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, where he was honored and proud to be asked to serve as an assistant chief resident.
In 2000, Dr. Van Dam moved back to the Boston area, and successfully established his practice in primary care and internal medicine in a Partners affiliated practice. In 2007, he joined the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, where he cared for thousands of patients in his internal medicine practice.
Dr. Van Dam is a Harvard Medical School Instructor in Medicine. Throughout his career, he has taught both medical students and residents in physical diagnosis, hospital medicine, and primary care.
As an experienced internist and primary care physician, Dr. Van Dam specializes in the diagnosis and management of a wide variety of medical problems. Some particular clinical interests include heart disease prevention, cancer screening, and the management of high blood pressure, heart disease, thyroid problems, and diabetes.
Dr. Van Dam is a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine, a member of the American Medical Association, and was granted Fellowship in the American College of Physicians. He was selected by Boston Magazine as one of Boston's top doctors."
