"James Gilbert, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine. Dr. Gilbert performs orthopedic surgery, arthroscopic surgery, and regenerative medicine treatments at RegenMD in Potomac, Maryland. He has proudly cared for patients and athletes of all ages and levels in the Greater Washington, DC, area for more than 20 years.
Growing up in Montgomery County, Dr. Gilbert attended Landon School in Bethesda, Maryland. Following his undergraduate education at Amherst College, he pursued postgraduate studies at Princeton University, Georgetown University School of Medicine, and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Duke University. Dr. Gilbert completed a sports medicine fellowship with Dr. Robert Jackson at the Baylor-Tom Landry Sports Medicine & Research Center in Dallas, Texas. Dr. Gilbert returned home to the Washington, DC area, where he has been in private practice working with the community ever since.
Teaching patients about the link between a healthy lifestyle and a better quality of life is one of Dr. Gilbert's passions.
