"I received the honor of becoming a doctor after earning my Medical Degree at Tulane University in New Orleans. Tulane Medical School instills upon its students not only an education of the disease process, but also a high expectation for the responsibility of a physician in caring for an individual. My joint degree from the Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine broadened my focus to include community health. It gives me greater insight in the prevention of illnesses and maintenance of a person’s well-being.
After medical school I was selected for my first choice of Internal Medicine residency at the University of Maryland in Baltimore. There’s a saying that you get your medical degree in medical school, but you earn it in residency training. This was indeed the case with the rigorous training at the University of Maryland. After completion, I tested and became board certified in Internal Medicine. Even after over 15 years in clinical practice, I am still thankful to my residency program for its outstanding education."
