Mary Beth Valiulis MD grew up in Shreveport, where she graduated from Caddo Magnet High School. She received an Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theology from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. She did graduate studies in Theology at The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. as well as The Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley, CA. She obtained her Medical Doctorate and completed her internship and residency in Psychiatry at LSUHSC in Shreveport, where she also served as Chief Resident. In 2000, she received the prestigious Dr. John W. Bick Award for outstanding achievement and promise in the field of Psychiatry, from the Louisiana Psychiatric Medical Association. She is a member of the American Psychiatric Association, Louisiana Psychiatric Medical Association, American Academy of Sleep Medicine, Louisiana State Medical Society, and the Shreveport Medical Society."
