Kristen Fiorentino, MD

"Kristen Fiorentino, M.D. completed her undergraduate education at the University of California, Irvine in Biological Sciences where went on to study Immunology, Molecular Biology and Biochemistry at the postgraduate level. She graduated from The George Washington University School of Medicine in 1993. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at the University of New Mexico where she spent additional time doing research on type II diabetes mellitus.  She has multiple publications in scientific and peer reviewed medical journals. As an attending physician in Albuquerque, Dr. Fiorentino was involved in the development and start-up of hospitalist programs. She spent one year in New York City where she gained experience in cosmetic dermatology.  She practiced as a hospitalist for St. Luke’s Regional Medical Center in Boise, ID where she worked intermittently for several years punctuated by time at home being a mom.  She maintains board certification in internal medicine.

Her areas of interest include the role of food and environmental toxins in autoimmune and chronic diseases, as well as the role of inflammation in atherosclerotic heart disease.  She searches for the underlying cause of disease, targeting treatment toward the root cause, rather than simply treating symptoms.  She gives consideration to the role of nutrition, stress reduction and non-pharmaceutical interventions in preventing and treating disease.  Dr. Fiorentino is passionate about medicine and believes patients deserve outstanding service, time, and compassion."
