"Dr. Heather Layher is a board-certified Dermatologist and fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon. She received her undergraduate education at Boise State University graduating Magna Cum Laude.
Upon entering medical school at Touro University in Nevada, she was commissioned as an officer in the US Army. After graduating medical school with Sigma Sigma Phi Honors, her first military assignment was at Madigan Army Medical Center where she fulfilled her internship year. She then completed Dermatology residency training through San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium.
Following residency, she became the Chief of Dermatology at West Point and served in this role for four years. During this time, she also completed a Master of Business Administration degree from Boise State University. From 2020 to 2021, she completed fellowship training in micrographic surgery and dermatologic oncology (Mohs surgery) at Texas Tech University. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) and an associate member candidate of the American College of Mohs Surgery (ACMS). Dr. Layher is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology in both Dermatology and Micrographic Dermatologic Surgery.
She was raised in Idaho and is excited to return. She enjoys spending time with her husband and dog. She looks forward to caring for the northern Idaho community."
