"Dr. John Gerguis grew up in Houston, TX, where his family still resides. He is the oldest of 3 boys. Dr. Gerguis obtained his Bachelor's degree from the University of Texas at Austin and his medical degree in 1995 from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. He then completed an internship in General surgery at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, and his Family Medicine Residency at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He has been in Statesboro since 1999 and practices with his wife, Dr. Angela Gerguis. Both he and his wife are Board Certified in Family Medicine and are 2 of approximately only 200 physicians in the state of Georgia who are also Board Certified in Hospice and Palliative Medicine. Dr. Gerguis served as the Medical Director of Ogeechee Area Hospice from 2002 until 2013. Dr. Gerguis remains active in the community with participation in the Statesboro Kiwanis Club and several other civic clubs. He is very proud of his staff's hard work and dedication, and deeply values their continued commitment to providing the highest quality of care to all their patients."
