"As a native of the Atlanta area, I am now proud to call Woodstock my home. I have a loving husband, John, two wonderful young adult children in college, two dogs, and a cat. I enjoy many outside activities, especially those involving water. Tennis, hiking, camping, horseback riding, and swimming, are all among my favorite past times. Around the home, I like painting, calligraphy, cooking, and gardening. I was Valedictorian at Joseph T. Walker High School in Marietta. Next, I graduated Magna Cum Lauda with a Bachelor's of Science in Applied Biology from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Then, I received my MD and completed my Residency in Family Practice from the Medical College of Georgia. After residency, we moved out to Idaho where my husband could continue his research in Herpetology. While there, I worked in an urgent care facility, university student health center, and was medical director of a nursing home and state clinic. After returning to Georgia I have worked for both hospital-owned and corporate medical practices. I grew up in Austell, Georgia. As a child, even from a young age, I bombarded my doctors with endless questions. Most just did not have the time to provide many answers. I dreamed of growing up and being the kind of doctor who answered my patient's questions so they understood their healthcare. Throughout my 26 years of practicing medicine, I have always believed in spending the time to explain the conditions, answer the questions, and understand the needs of each individual patient. This style does not match well with traditional medical practice systems. Healthcare is broken and we need to think outside of the box to fix it. The DIrect Primary Care model does just that. Now, I can live my dream and take the time my patients deserve to provide the care they need at a cost they can afford. Please keep reading to learn about this exciting new approach to healthcare!"
