"My earliest memory of my desire to be in the medical field was as a 3 year old listening to my Aunt Sarah’s stories as a recovery room nurse. I was fascinated with heart felt stories of the nurses and doctors reaching out to their patients in every way possible to heal their diseases and illnesses.
Upon graduating from Fayette County High School in Fayetteville Georgia in 1980, I headed to Georgia Baptist School of Nursing in Atlanta Georgia. Graduating in 1983 as a registered nurse I pursued my passion for critical care nursing in ER and ICU/CCU. Leadership, growing my fellow colleagues, and yearning for autonomy lead me back to school for a Masters in Science degree at Ga. State University and certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 1997. My love for leadership, impeccable patient care combined with an entrepreneurial spirit landed me in a partnership in an urgent and primary care center. I crossed professional paths with Dr. Jamie Walraven who provided functional medicine to our primary care patients. I worked in the urgent care as a nurse practitioner and was Director of Operations and co-owner of the business. It is here that I saw the difference between traditional western medicine in treating symptoms of diseases with the concentration on “getting them in and out” vs functional medicine, getting to the root of the problem, that Dr Walraven practiced. I was amazed as she excavated the root cause of patients’ diseases and illnesses and brought them back to wellness. A mutual vision for patient centered, innovative, functional and regenerative medicine was merged. Two years later after much planning, prayer, passion and intention of purpose I had the privilege of partnering with Dr. Walraven in functional medicine in Ageless Wellness Center and in regenerative medicine in Stem Cell Center"
