"Barry K. Hull, M.D., F.A.A.F.P. completed his undergraduate education at Indiana University in Bloomington, IN in 1984 and completed his medical degree at the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, Indiana. He served his internship and residency in Family Medicine at Community Hospitals of Indiana, also in Indianapolis. There he served as Chief Resident and was awarded the Jane R. Richter memorial award for outstanding resident teacher. Dr. Hull practiced family medicine in Indianapolis, IN for eight years before relocating to Fayette County in 1999. He then practiced another thirteen years at The Doctor’s Office in Peachtree City, GA before joining A New Start Counseling Center. He is the founding physician of A New Start Counseling Center, Medical Division. It’s mission is to provide medical psychiatric services to patients with a goal of healing: not just making patients better, but making patients well without suffering side effects from their medications.
Dr. Hull was certified as a “Master Psychopharmacologist” by the Neuroscience Education Institute in 2005. This designation reflects his expertise in managing medications (both the effects and side effects) used to treat the conditions of depression, anxiety, AD/HD, bipolar, insomnia, and other mental health conditions. He has over twenty years of clinical medical experience, and has spent over ten years focusing on treating mental health disorders.
Dr. Hull is also board certified in Family Medicine and is a Diplomat of the American Board of Family Medicine. He has achieved the designation as a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Hull has a board certified subspecialty in Lipidology as a Diplomat of the American Board of Clinical Lipidology."
