Doctor Details:

"Dr. Vicencio was born in the Philippines. Upon immigrating to the U.S. with his family, they settled in Chicago. He was raised in Evanston, IL with his brother, who is also a primary care internist.

He came to Tampa in 1985 to attend the University of South Florida where he earned a bachelor’s degree in biology. In 1993 he earned medical degree from USF College of Medicine. He continued his specialty training at Bayfront Medical Center Family Medicine Residency Program in St. Petersburg, FL, where he served as Chief Resident in his third year. He is currently pursuing further education as a Certified Culinary Medicine Specialist to complete his training in 2021.

Prior to starting V Medcare, Dr. Vicencio practiced for almost 24 years as an employed physician with Morton Plant Mease Primary Care / BayCare Medical Group in Oldsmar, FL.

Dr. Vicencio has been happily married to his wife, Lisa, for 25 years and they have 2 children, a Seminole and a Gator. He is an accomplished cook and involved in the exciting culinary scene in Tampa Bay.

He believes in providing care that emphasizes every aspect of a person’s being. He truly embraces the differences that we all have as they are what make our world such a beautiful place."

Clinic Details:

"At V Medcare, you are not paying “extra” for the same care that you are accustomed to receiving through a traditional fee-for-service practice (standard insurance). You are investing in a unique model of care (the DPC model) that allows unparalleled access to your personal physician. The DPC model allows me to spend as much time with you in the office as needed. You are hiring me to proactively manage your health and to engage in developing a healthy self-care program that fits your needs.

The DPC model gives me the additional option to manage your medical problems by phone, email, or virtual visits by secure video chat. This flexible access saves you time by not having to and come in for a visit. There will be little to no waiting in the office when you do have an appointment. Due to the amount of time allowed for each visit and the limited number of patients in my practice, I have time to explain the diagnostic process and the pros and cons of testing for your condition which results in reducing testing and procedure costs.

You can reach me during evenings and weekends by text or cell phone, without going through the typical triage process of an answering service or an on-call physician or nurse. You are also less likely to need urgent care services because of this access to a personal physician. I will have the time to explain the pros and cons of medication, and alternatives to medication. By keeping your medication to a minimum, you will be saving financially from high prescription costs, and more importantly, saving physically from potential side effects. You will also be able see me when injured on the job or in a car accident, because I don’t have to worry about having an insurance claim denied in these circumstances.

Regardless of the cost of your additional insurance coverage, my DPC practice is affordable. Considering all of the savings opportunities discussed above, which are not afforded by a fee-for-service system, I would argue that you can’t afford to NOT have a DPC physician!"
