"Tania E. Velez, MD, is a board-certified allopathic Family Medicine physician. Velez Family Health, is located in the Metro West area of Orlando, Florida. Dr. Velez takes a holistic approach to health care, combining her knowledge of conventional medical practices with evidence-based alternative therapies to offer integrative medicine to her patients. She believes in treating the whole person, not the just illness, and spends the time necessary to teach you about the importance of prevention and wellness.
In addition to routine primary care Dr. Velez offers individualized wellness programs to help you achieve your health and fitness goals. She believes with guidance and education anyone can take control of their health and potentially reverse or prevent disease.
Dr. Velez has had a lifetime of learning and special skills in the medical field and outside of the medical field. She started her first job in medical records, medical billing and credentialing at a Cardiologist office after high school. She also completed a certification of Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and worked as an EMT in a busy Miami ER prior to medical school. Dr. Velez attended both Valencia College and University of Central Florida in Orlando and graduated with a Bachelors in Science degree in Molecular Cell Biology and Microbiology. She also received a minor in Business from University of Central Florida. She attended University of South Florida College of Medicine for her medical degree. Dr. Velez returned to Central Florida to complete her residency at the Florida Hospital Family Medicine residency program in Orlando, Fl. To fulfill her dream of providing a more well-rounded and natural approach to her practice, Dr. Velez completed a two-year fellow ship in Integrative Medicine through the University of Arizona in Tucson, Az. Dr. Velez also completed a Diploma in International Medicine and Public Health through the Institute for International Medicine."
