Michael Sparks, MD

"A Florida native, I grew up in Dunedin, Florida playing baseball and hockey with my brothers. After high school, I moved to the Orlando area to attend UCF for my undergraduate education where I received my Bachelor’s in Biology with a minor in Health Sciences. While at UCF I met my wonderful wife, an Oviedo native. I attended medical school at Ross University, where I graduated with high honors. While in medical school, I was active in the American Medical Student Association. I spent time working on projects related to conflicts of interest in medicine and medical education. It was during this time that I realized how Direct Primary Care would allow me to deliver the kind of medicine I wanted as a doctor. I completed my Family Medicine Residency at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Jacksonville, Florida where I served as Chief Resident in my final year. While in residency I developed a passion for point of care ultrasound and its use in primary care visits. After residency, we knew it was time to come home to Oviedo to raise our family while giving back to our community and I’m super excited to be back. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my young daughter, two dogs and watching soccer and hockey."
