"Dr. Howard Robbins is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, Quality Assurance, and Utilization Review. From 1996-2012, he served as Chief Medical Officer of Martin Health System and Vice President of Medical Affairs, and he now serves on the Martin Medical Center Board of Directors. During his tenure with Martin Health, the hospital was named a Thomson Reuters TOP 100 U.S. Community Hospital eight times based on quality of care.
He is a graduate of Rutgers College in New Brunswick, NJ. He received his medical degree from The University of Pittsburgh and completed his internship and residency at the University of South Florida (USF) Medical School and its affiliated hospitals in Tampa, FL. Dr. Robbins previously ran a private Pulmonary Medicine practice for 17 years, upon arriving in Stuart, FL in 1979.
Dr. Robbins provides weekly charitable care at the Volunteers in Medicine Clinic (http://vimclinic.net/who-we-are/). Since 1995, the Volunteers in Medicine Clinic has been caring for residents of Martin County who have no access to health care. Their patients are legal adult residents who do not qualify for Medicaid or Medicare, do not have private health insurance, and have household incomes below 200 percent of the federal poverty level."
