Dr. Nik Kanellopoulos (or Dr. “K” as known to his patients!) was born and raised in Greece. He grew up in a small seaside town by the Mediterranean Sea and always knew that he would end up living by the ocean! He received his education and attended Medical School in Greece, graduating in 2003 from the Aristotle University in Thessaloniki. He did a partial surgical residency, finished his military service in the Greek Air Force and decided to pursue further training and education in the United States where he has been since 2008. He worked as a surgical assistant and completed his Family Residency training in Chicago, Illinois, where he received multiple awards and distinctions serving as the Chief Resident during his final year of training at Swedish Covenant Hospital. In pursuit of warmer weather (and the ocean!) he and his family moved to Florida’s Space Coast where he started practicing Family Medicine both at the office and at Cape Canaveral Hospital where he served on the Medical Executive Committee and multiple other committees gaining significant leadership experience. In 2018 he opened up his own independent Family Practice, Island Family Health, on Merritt Island where he currently practices and lives. Dr. Kanellopoulos has received additional extensive training in medical aesthetics, body contouring, hormone optimization and weight loss and incorporates cutting-edge technology devices to help his patients achieve their goals. Dr. Kanellopoulos finds the most rewarding aspect of medicine to be the profound and long-lasting relationships with his patients and clients that only Family Medicine offers! He strongly believes in the Ancient Greek ideal of a “healthy mind in a healthy body” and he is a big proponent of preventive care services. Dr. Kanellopoulos enjoys swimming, triathlons, reading, music and time with his family.
