"Roberta Hunter, M.D., was board-certified in emergency medicine when she worked in the ER for ten years. She held certifications in advanced cardiovascular life support, ACLS, advanced trauma life support, and pediatric advanced life support, and obtained Educational Commission For Foreign Medical Graduates, ECFMG, certification. At Conviva West St. Lucie, she leads a team of compassionate, patient-focused primary care professionals with a commitment to medical excellence. Dr. Hunter’s residencies in Coney Island Hospital and Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York, encompassed a surgical residency in surgical intensive care, open heart surgical intensive care, urology, orthopedics, emergency medicine, general surgery, and trauma service. She served a surgical internship in emergency medicine, anesthesia, open-heart surgery, general surgery and a combined service of pediatrics, thoracic, and vascular surgery; and a rotating internship in internal medicine, general surgery, open-heart surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, psychiatry, and pediatrics. Dr. Hunter earned her medical degree with Honors from the Autonomous University of Guadalajara in Guadalajara, Mexico. She attended graduate studies in genetics and cell biology at Hunter College in New York City. She received a Bachelor of Science from Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, New York. Dr. Hunter’s experience as a medical attending includes Long Beach Memorial Hospital, Hempstead General Hospital, Lawnwood Regional Medical Center, H.C.A. Port St. Lucie Medical Center, and H.C.A. Raulerson Hospital. Dr. Hunter maintained a full-time general medicine private practice in Port St. Lucie, Florida, seeing over 8,000 new patients over five years. She enjoys reading, golf, and continuing education."
