Hi, I’m Dr. Susie Damon. I absolutely LOVE children and it shows in every interaction. I strive to be a trusted resource for your family.
I fell in love with the field of pediatrics during medical school training at the University of South Alabama and went on to complete my residency training at Children’s Hospital Colorado, here in Denver. I maintain full certification by the American Board of Pediatrics and am an active member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Many of you may know me from my years as a general pediatrician at Greenwood Pediatrics, while others may know me from my more recent years at the Kaiser Permanente Highlands Ranch and Arapahoe clinics. Either way, you know that I am kind, compassionate, empathetic, and knowledgeable!
Whether practicing pediatrics in a traditional pediatric practice setting or seeing patients who are part of a larger system like Kaiser Permanente, my frustrations have been the same. There just is not enough time to provide the high quality of care that I strive to provide.
Traditional practices, whether large or small, rely on reimbursement from insurance companies to cover overhead and pay the bills. Unfortunately, insurance companies do not value time, only procedures. This has forced pediatricians to see more and more patients per day and has put limits on “how” pediatricians can see and care for their patients. DPC is the answer to this problem, and I am passionate about transforming primary care in a way that provides better care and access to your pediatrician at a much lower price.
On a more personal note, I live in Centennial, Colorado, with my husband, 2 teenage children, and 3 dogs. I am almost as passionate about animals as I am about children, having been raised on a small farm and growing up raising cows, pigs, and riding horses. Now, I spends my leisure time in the beautiful Colorado mountains whenever possible, enjoying all that Grand County has to offer! Other interests of mine include traveling to faraway places, reading fiction (which takes my mind to far away places), and spending time with my family.
