"Hello! My name is Cory Carroll. I am a board certified family physician whos been practicing in Fort Collins for 28 years. I was trained here at Poudre Valley Hospital, now UCHealth, part of the Colorado University system. Prior to medicine I was an engineer. I graduated from Colorado State University with a degree in mechanical engineering, then went right from there into the Airforce. There is where I got a Masters degree, followed up with some work in the Airforce. I was actually able to help design ejection seats to have less impact on pilots when they got ejected out of planes. Throughout all of this work even as an engineer I was fascinated with the human body and the next obvious step was medical school. I went to the University of Cincinnati in 1989 and matriculated at that time, moved back to Colorado to start my medical career. After graduating from residency, I started my medical career hear in Fort Collins and moved around quite a bit, the majority of my time has been spent in solo practice. The reason for that is simple, I like being in control and I think a major part of being a good doctor is to spend time with patients. When you work for larger clinic and other systems there’s a lot of control that is out of your hands and you are no longer in charge. I don’t like that. To me the physician/patient relationship is key. If you want to give good medical care, you’ve got to know the patient and the only way to do that is to spend time with them. In my practice I’ve always put that as a high priority, and I always will. We’ve had to make some changes to our practice, becoming a DPC, and to me, it’s an exciting new future and I’d love to have you apart of that. If my office and my practice style makes sense to you, please give us a call."
