Bob Uslander, MD

"Bob Uslander, MD, is the medical director and founder of Integrated MD Care in Del Mar, California. With years of experience as an emergency and palliative care and hospice physician, Dr. Bob specializes in providing concierge medicine services while fostering deep connections with patients and families throughout their major health and life challenges.

Dr. Bob graduated summa cum laude from the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign with his Bachelor of Science in biology. He then attended the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA in Los Angeles, California, where he earned his Doctor of Medicine and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.

Prior to establishing Integrated MD Care, Dr. Bob was an emergency physician and medical director of Forest Road Health & Wellness Center and Urgent Care Clinic in Sonora, California. He then worked as an emergency physician at Santa Ynez Cottage Hospital in Solvang, California, before becoming the medical director at MedCare Specialty Clinics in Carlsbad, California. He also served as the Medical Director for Palliative Care and Hospice at LightBridge Medical Associates in San Diego, California.

At Integrated MD Care, Dr. Bob believes that effective care is more than simply keeping patients comfortable. Beyond hospice and palliative care, he believes it is vital to address the whole person and their physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual needs to ensure the best quality of life possible. 

He strives to foster deep connections with his patients and their families who are experiencing health challenges and guide them in making decisions about their care. His goal is to ensure patients enjoy the greatest sense of peace and well-being as they go through the stages of aging and complex illness until their final breath.

On behalf of his patients and families, Dr. Bob collaborates with other physicians in the San Diego area and throughout Southern California. His gentle and communicative manner brings families together to support their loved ones. He takes a “village” approach in providing health care, meaning he focuses on what’s important to his patients rather than their condition. This allows him to deliver the best care possible to ensure his patients are comfortable and peaceful.

After 27 years in the medical field, Dr. Bob now understands that the most valuable gift he can offer as a physician and a human is to listen and empathize with his patients and families. His experience as an emergency physician and a palliative care and hospice physician, combined with his personal experience of caring for friends and family members through illness and death, has given him a unique perspective that allows him to be a genuine and effective patient navigator, guide, advocate, and friend."
